Adoptable Horses
The horses on this page are all available for adoption and housed here at our rescue, in KY, unless otherwise stated. They have come to us starved, abused, neglected, unwanted or have been surrendered by their owners for various reasons and are in varying degrees of rehabilitation. They have all fought hard to overcome health and emotional issues, so they must be placed with a suitable "forever" home. They may also be leased on-site as a trial run or until a suitable home is found.
HOW THE ADOPTION PROCESS WORKS
(this is for horses in ARM's possession, housed on our farm or fosters)
An adoption application must be completed and approved prior to being considered for one of these horses. Click here for an application, which can be emailed or mailed back to us after completion.
You must come and meet the horse if you are local. If you decide this is the horse for you and the horse agrees, a $100.00 non-refundable deposit must be given. (Contrary to sales, adoptions do not go out on trial or leased off-property, unless prior petition has been made and approved by the Board).
A placement agreement is then completed, signed and payment made. If a horse is registered, you will receive his or her registration papers. Pick-up arrangements must be within 14 days of adoption. Longer stays may be arranged with board charges.
ADOPTION FEES ARE NOT DONATIONS! THEY ARE NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE. However, your tax-deductible donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Apollo (KY)
Tall, over 15hds and 11yrs old, this boy is green broke but needs to be restarted from the ground up. He's a bit nervous and spooky, so needs a firm but patient person to work with him. Reg'd SE/AK with lines to Al Baraki, Imtaarif, Minstril and Fabo. Located in KY. Fee $1500-Pending!Rumor
This cute little girl is supposed to be broke to ride. About 12-13yrs old, 13.2hds, she could be a great first pony or small adult mount with training and mileage. Pretty easy to work with once she trusts you and has been tacked up, no vices and sound but may need shoes for support when riding due to an old hoof injury. Located in KY. Fee $800.00-PENDING!
Crystal (KY)
Great little pony who is 10yrs old and can be carded at 13.2hds. This girl has tons of ponytude and can be difficult to catch and/or lead at times, with her bitty stubborn streak. She is sweet once she gets to know you, broke to ride. With a refresher she could be your child's next trail horse, an endurance prospect for small adult or child or a cute little hunter pony. Can be carded. Located in KY. Fee $1200
Elijah (KY)
Eli is around 4-5 months old and a medicine hat Shetland pony colt. He's adorable, sweet, friendly and loves attention but can be a demon pony. Not for the inexperienced till he learns manners. Halter broke and has decent ground manners but is bratty. He has 1 blue eye and 1 half brown/half blue. He has sticky hocks so will never be a riding pony but would make a great pet or driving pony. Located in KY. Fee $1000 (includes $100 for gelding)
Praying Mantis (KY)
Pray is a very sweet 6-8yr old red roan Shetland pony and is Eli's mom. She is kind and willing but difficult to catch and said to be leadline broke only. Easy to handle, once caught, she could be a first for any child with training. Located in KY. Fee $750
Eagle (NC)
Handsome bay gelding, around 14.3hds,13yrs old. Said to be green broke but not messed with for awhile. Has a bit of a low back. This boy is sweet and loves attention. Good for a smaller, lighter rider for leisurely trails. Located in NC. Fee $1000Chyna (KY)
Chyna is a nice TWH mare approx 10-12yrs old and 15.1-15.2hds. She rides beautifully, is fearless, responsive and gaited. Ride her on the trails this fall, work with her in the arena all winter and hit the shows and competitions next spring. Located in KY. Fee $2000
Rhyanna (PA)
This lovely SE black mare has predominantly Minstril lines and is 12 years old. Approx 14.2-14.3hds, she is not broke to ride that we know of but would not be hard to train. Sweet and willing, she'd be a flashy mare to trail ride or compete with. Located in PA. ADOPTED!

This is Calypso's 2yr old son, gelded. He is a bit shy about being caught, but once he is he's a sweet boy with nice ground manners. Should mature around 15hds. Work with him from the ground up and have him ready when your current riding partner is ready for a break. Located in KY. Fee $1000

Nique is a lovely 14-14.1hd mare, approx 10-13yrs old. She is blind in one eye, but you'd never know it. Possibly broke to ride and may be a gaited Paso Fino, she is sweet, sweet, sweet. Will be available after mid-November. Located in NC. Fee $1000

Toby is a sweet 15.3hd gelding with moderate stringhalt. He's in his mid-teens and looking for a light riding home. Quick refresher and he'd love to hit the trails. Located in KY. Fee $1000

Rhythm-filly born 4/28/21, turning grey. Should mature to about 14.3-15hds. QH or Quarab who is sweeeeeet. She loves attention and will do just about anything you ask. This girl is the easiest going on the farm. Located in KY. Adopted!

Pretty Ishie is a yearling Arab/QH filly and yearns love. With consistent, daily handling, she could be your "everything" horse. Mom is about 14.3hds so she should be about the same or bigger at maturity. Located in KY. Fee $1000

Ishie's mom is kind, sweet and well broke. Around 10-12yrs old and 14.3hds. Good for intermediate or advanced rider as she will throw a buck. This girl would do any discipline you want. Located in PA. ADOPTED!
