The horses on this page are all available for adoption and housed here at the rescue, in KY, unless otherwise stated. They have come to us starved, abused, neglected or unwanted and are in varying degrees of rehabilitation. They have all fought hard to overcome health and emotional issues, so they must be placed with a suitable "forever" home. They may also be leased on-site as a trial run or until a suitable home is found.

HOW THE ADOPTION PROCESS WORKS

(this is for horses in ARM's possession, housed on our farms or fosters)

An adoption application must be completed and approved prior to being considered for one of these horses. Click here for an application, which can be emailed or mailed back to us after completion.

You must come and meet the horse if you are local. If you decide this is the horse for you and the horse agrees, a $100.00 non-refundable deposit must be given. (Contrary to sales, adoptions do not go out on trial or leased off-property, unless prior petition has been made and approved by the Board).

A placement agreement is then completed, signed and payment made. If a horse is registered, you will receive a copy of his/her registration papers. If you plan on showing, co-ownership is retained by the Rescue. Pick-up arrangements must be within 14 days of adoption. Longer stays may be arranged with board charges.

This lovely Appy/Arab cross is around 5yrs old and approx 14hds and built like a tank. Difficult to catch but wants to trust. Needs work from the ground up. Would make a nice child's pony after training. Would do well in endurance or just as your trail buddy. Will be available after June. Located in NC. Fee $1000

Born 1/26/22, this little guy should mature around 14hds. He has a cute blanket and Mom is an Appy/Arab cross. No idea who Daddy is. Will probably lighten as he grows but should be a little tank. Sweet, cute as a button and leads well. Located in KY. Fee $1000 (Includes $100 towards gelding)

Tall, leggy yearling filly. Looks like a TWH or Saddlebred/Arab cross. She will mature to be 15+ hds. Still has trust issues, so not halter broke yet but would be a lovely project for an experienced handler. Not mean or aggressive just evades people. Located in KY. Fee $500

Jamaica is a kind, sweet Arab mare, approx 20yrs old and about 14.2-3hds. She is so sweet and very forgiving US. Would be a great child's first pony. Located in PA. Fee $1000

Cute little yearling filly, looks like a TWHor QH cross. May mature to about 14-14.3hds and a smooty dun. Not halter broke yet but curious. Should make a nice project to be someone's trail buddy in a few years. Located in KY. Fee $500
